First drawing of 2013! :)
The little fish are some anonymous sort of freshwater cichlid (my dad breeds and sells cichlids, so they're rather close to my heart).

I have to feed my dad's many cichlids whenever my parents are out of town. I also have to remove any deceased fish before they casually get chewed up by their living neighbours.

I wanted to draw something foreign and initially frightening in a little fish environment. Just like when they move into a new tank, the fish would first be uncomfortable, then curious -and eventually they would get used to the new environment altogether and (in the case of cichlids) start burrowing. The girl had been passive (or dead) for so long, that she had just blended in perfectly to the surroundings.
